Barn to Yarn

Our yarn is special and unique because it is made from each individual alpaca's fleece. The alpacas are shorn once a year.  The fleece is kept separate from shearing and through out the processing of the yarn. Our yarn is spun at a mini mill in Hastings, Minnesota, USA. The yarn is all natural colors  - no dyeing.  Alpacas have 16 natural colors. Some yarn is a combination of several alpaca fleeces; this gives again a unique, one of a kind color.

The yarn is 3 ply fingering weight. Alpaca is light weight and very warm. When we knit and want thicker yarn, we use more strands. We have some yarn with merino wool for those who want a little wool.  We also have yarn with nylon for those who want nylon for items  like socks and mittens.

We have skeins from 3 ounces to 10 ounces.  All skeins are marked with weight and approximate yardage.  The price is $7.00 per ounce for 100% alpaca and $6.00 per ounce for alpaca/wool blends.

Feel free to contact us with your questions or your interest in purchasing our yarn.   If you request, we will make  the skeins into center pull balls free of charge. We send by US mail or your preference. Shipping cost are approximated.

The photos were taken in natural light.  Your computer may display the colors differently.  I will describe as best I can.
